Quantum Simulation
The Scientists made a big breakthrough by simulating Google’s 53-qubit Sycamore quantum circuit. They used 1,432 GPUs, smart algorithms, and a method called top-k sampling.
The team ran the simulation on powerful NVIDIA A100 GPUs. Their goal was to model a complex quantum system using classical computers.
They used tensor slicing to split the problem into smaller parts. This saved memory and made the simulation faster. Top-k sampling focused only on the most likely outcomes.
They tested their method on smaller circuits. A 30-qubit test matched expected results, showing the method works well.
This study shows how to simulate bigger quantum circuits.
